Steven Gal is a career entrepreneur. In July 2009, Steven returned to teaching entrepreneurship as a Visiting Associate Professor of Clinical Entrepreneurship at Cornell University?s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Most recently, over more than a decade in the technology industry, Steven has co-founded and grown six venture-capital backed companies, raising more than $100 million and leading to an IPO, several successful sales, and one failure, while solving entrenched problems for consumers and businesses across areas as diverse as identity theft, personal privacy, customer support, e-marketing and internet search.
Prior to his technology career, Steven was an Associate Professor of Clinical Entrepreneurship in the Entrepreneur Program at USC's Marshall School of Business. Earlier, he spent several years on Wall Street in risk arbitrage and on the floor of the New York Futures Exchange. Steven is an attorney and a member of the California Bar.
Steven has served on the Boards of various for-profit and not-for-profit companies over more than two decades. Currently he serves on the Boards of the not-for-profit Identity Theft Resource Center as well as the advisory council for Entrepreneurship@Cornell and Cornell?s University Council. He holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from University of Southern California School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Cornell University.
Steven lives in Ithaca, New York (and La Jolla, California) with his wife Lisa and two sons.
