Panel Description

Panelists

Panel 1: Angel Investing – Heaven or Hell?, Johnson’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute

They’re called angel investors, but entrepreneurs often have a devil of a time finding them, keeping them happy, and integrating them into a maturing cap table. Join us for an interactive panel to understand the ins and outs of angel investing and learn how to find investors that can take a startup under their wings. Demystifying the angel investor, the panel will focus on practical ways for entrepreneurs to approach, integrate, and leverage good angels, and spot signs of investors that will clash with management and future investors. The panel will also discuss the metrics and issues prospective angels consider as they evaluate investment opportunities.

The market's perpetual resistance to internalizing the true social costs of carbon has forced the renewable energy sector to rely continually on inconsistent government regulations and incentives for price support. The recent discovery of significant amounts of shale gas coupled with intensified market competition from emerging economies challenge the viability of domestic renewable energy.  Among the different participants in the renewable energy market, renewable technology start-ups are most exposed to these threats.
